Listen to Sister Maria Benedicta OP as recounts the beautiful story of her path from being raised in a devout Catholic family in Dayton, Ohio, to professing final vows with the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, in Ann Arbor.
“Our profession liturgy is not just another Mass that’s happening during the year – it’s really, for the sisters making vows, their wedding day, and it’s their Wedding Mass,” says Sister Maria Benedicta who made her final profession on July 21 at Christ the King Church in Ann Arbor.
“The altar in a church is where the continual sacrifice of Christ on the cross takes place, that’s where it’s made present at every Mass and, so, through our profession we are being espoused not just to Christ but, especially, to the crucified Christ.”
