Exodus 19:1-2,9-11,16-20
(1) In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. (2) When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain. (9) Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh. (10) Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments, (11) and be ready against the third day; for on the third day Yahweh will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai. (16) On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud trumpet; and all the people who were in the camp trembled. (17) Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain. (18) All of Mount Sinai smoked, because Yahweh descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. (19) When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice. (20) Yahweh came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. Yahweh called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

Daniel 3:52-56
(52) “Blessed be you, Lord, God of our ancestors, worthy of praise and lifted high above all for all time; and blessed be your sacred and magnificent name, worthy of praise and lifted high above all throughout all generations. (53) Blessed are you in the sanctuary of your sacred splendor, deserving of praise and glory above all forever. (54) Blessed are you on your kingly throne, deserving of praise and lifted high above all forever. (55) Blessed are you, who peers into the depths from your seat above the cherubim, deserving of praise and lifted high above all forever. (56) Blessed be you in the vault of heaven, deserving of praise and glory for all time.”

Matthew 13:10-17
(10) The disciples came, and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” (11) He answered them, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them. (12) For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have abundance, but whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he has. (13) Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they don’t see, and hearing, they don’t hear, neither do they understand. (14) In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says, ‘By hearing you will hear, and will in no way understand; Seeing you will see, and will in no way perceive: (15) for this people’s heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again; and I would heal them.’ (16) “But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear. (17) For most certainly I tell you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them; and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.
